Looking for someone with excellent resume writing skills to update my existing resume to current resume standards, with an emphasis on Information Technology. I am seeking a salaried position with an IT staff in the medical industry. I am concerned that my resume is geared toward the wrong audience, as I have been an IT business owner for a decade and am looking to scale back from 24/7 independent to possibly a 9-5 position as part of a team. I am interested in a specific position in a hospital and would have a direct report, but do not want to appear that I am out to his/her position.
I have been a professional in the IT field for over 15 years and havent had to write a resume in 10. Many IT resumes cite "Skills" with specific hardware and software packages. My dilemma regarding this section is as follows: Many of the products in my old resume are dated. I have also experience with many new products in addition to these. It would be nearly impossible to list all of the hardware and software I have worked with in my career. What is the best approach to updating this section without being too verbose or specific?
In addition, my professional certifications are somewhat dated but I have applied relevant knowledge throughout my career. I have not updated to the latest but still thinks it makes sense to include them as are a critical part of my background and training (hence they've been moved from the top to the bottom).
I also need a cover letter that I can tailor towards different positions within the IT field. Whether applying for a staff or managerial position, I'd like to have minimal editing to be prepared to send it off but not have it end up on the bottom of the applicant pile.
My budget is $75 for resume and cover letter.
