Non profit arts group in NYC is looking to create an application to be used for distribution and streaming of custom audio content. We are looking to create a simple application that can interface with a user account on a remote SQL database and then stream 4 minute audio files to the user’s device. User would then have the ability to create and organize playlists of content. While audio is the primary content, we would also like to sync audio to periodic visuals, so would either need to sync with images or all content would be low-fi H264 video.
Examples of similar applications might be NPR's radio player and Joost, though we believe this is much simpler than both. Ideally, content would be played from within the application.
Developer would solely be responsible for app front end and helping set up back end, but all content would be our responsibility.
Developers can work remotely, but being able to meet in NYC is definitely a plus.
This is a work made for hire, and we believe that it can be done in a short period of time. More information is available upon request and NDA approval. Please email with references/examples of experience and past development.
