A very slick and professional looking 2.0 website is required. In a similar fashion to current popular social networking sites, it must be very 'clean-cut' and easy to use. The slightly unique aspect of this requirement is that the site will be based around (initially, with further additions possible depending on success) three main user types. Each 'user type' will log on to the site for slightly differing reasons, and for that matter, the appearance and functions available to each user will differ. However the overall aim is that the three 'user' modes should interact seamlessly to facilitate the symbiotic / mutually beneficial ethos, upon which the site is based. Confused? Obviously I'm reluctant to give too much away, but read on and see what you think.
The web programmer / developer will ideally be UK based, to allow for regular face to face meetings with both myself and my 'tekkie' guy - however this does not have to be a critical factor should an ideal candidate, with an impressive back-log of similar work live elsewhere. To give an example for my reasoning, basic flowcharts of the proposed website workings have been created and it would be desirable to be able to talk the ideas at this stage through with someone in person.
Other basic criteria (in addition to the three main user types) - to give you an idea of what we need, is that the site needs to be as 'live' as possible. For example certain postings, when they are created, must be instantly searchable by other users, in addition to being classified by project type, the postings must also be displayed geographically via a Google Maps mash-up perhaps?! Again, once a position has been taken /filled, it no longer appears on user’s job maps, or disappears from other users possible favourites list... details of all such functions will be explained and discussed fully upon commencement. Several other commonly used features are also to be utilised, e.g. a rating system, messaging functions, send business card (a poke/wink type feature), networking groups, secure online payment methods for certain functions, uploading of photos and other documents - creating online portfolios etc. Finally all documentation and user manuals must be created and submitted on delivery of the project.
If this does not come across as a confused mess, and you have a provable history of this type of work, and are absolutely confident that given the chance you can produce work of a very high / professional level, and are interested to find out more, please make yourself known to us in order to discuss the project further. Please be aware however that nothing less than a seamless, easy to use, slick / modern website is what we require, anything less will most probably fail. Ideally we are looking to forge an ongoing business relationship, and quite possibly with more than one developer, in order to perhaps assign various sections for each to concentrate on. Team / group submissions are very welcome. There is so much more that I could write, but should you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to contact me. The ideal project delivery time is to be around three months.
