I have 7 – 8 long technical documents (100 pages each) and each one contains at least five paragraphs per page. These documents need to be cross-referenced for search and traceability.
I’d like to create a document database using SQL Express or Access and copy the paragraphs into the database and then create some indexes to make it easy to search and link the material between paragraphs. I tried to find an application that does what I need but I didn’t see anything that meets our requirements.
The custom text database will have some multi-media links (the multimedia files will be stored in a folder, they will not be in the database, only pointers to the files will be in the database).
I have attached a preliminary design document to help you scope out the project. We can provide additional documentation, a graphics design and a test plan before the project is started.
This will be a two part project; Part 1 will be the UI interface, text only paragraphs, and the index and searching capabilities. Part 2 will add some basic multimedia capabilities and a single report page (which has not been described in this document). Your bid will be for Part 1 only, no multimedia or report.
The application could be built with VS2008, WPF and SQL Express 2008 or equivalent.
