Development of a whitelisting, SPF compatible, sender verification gateway solution to stem the receipt of spam mail. The idea is contained within an indepth (30 page) PDF document attached to this new project being issued here. Mention is made on perl, but C is really required for this, plus mention on using flat file Dbs or text files which is to be ignored, and mysql is to be used. Additionally, mention is made on connection or the provision of information to be import and export capable to a third party GUI/Db system, which will be handled externally, but the mechanism for this is to be included in the project, i.e. exporting and import of data to/from the third party solution, where the third party solution will connect based on the data and format/fields delivered by the end project. Please read the project document carefully and in detail of its needs, with any elements you feel are missing to be detailed in any potential quote for which (if possible) pm those additions you feel are appropriate. This project will not be jumped into both feet first, so tenders should evaluate up until possibly the end of October before needing to make suggestions and tenders on this, for which a decision on whether to proceed or not will then be made by me, based on suggestions and quotes. Cheers all, ian
Apologies, a few things which were left out of the general info post for this project, which I forgot, so please review and amend or remove tenders if applicable:
1. Once the developer has been selected, the first point of call is to deliver details/map of the import/export process fields and method for connection to the 3rd party solution connected with the GUI (explained in pdf), so that this can be developed externally to this project whilst this is then developed.
2. Payment Terms:
a. Escrow deposit of 75% will be deposited when the developer is selected and price agreed and moved to the developer upon a successful delivery of the project and initial test.
b. then, a Escrow deposit of the remaining 25% will be deposited once the delivery has occured, whilst a 4 - 6 week bedding in, bug hunting and fixing period is gone through, which must be conducted proactively and reactively to resolve issues with the solution.
c. Supplier should provide details of any longer term support, bug fixing periods, costs that would be incurred for such situations.
3. C/C++ is acceptable for this (C on its own was a typo), so C/C++ operable within Linux distro's, CentOS/RH EL etc etc is the deployment platform. VB and any other programming language is not acceptable for this, as it has to be C/C++ and operable on Linux distro's independant.
4. Being able to demonstrate understanding of the project needs and flow in project plans and tenders will assist suppliers in being short listed and selected.
5. NOTE: The cheapest and quickest tender is not going to secure the project. A combination of price, time scale and demonstration of a full understanding of the project will be taken into account with all tenders.
Apologies once again for this addition, but best to get this sorted now...
