This is not my usual realm of work, however a client asked me if I could help with an idea.
In north America there are several satellite tv signals that have a special marker encoded that informs a satellite finder of what satellite signal their aiming their antenae at.( supper buddy meter, bir dog meter etc) these are used by technicians during an installation to point the customers sateliteantenae I the right direction. My client needs a bare bones meter to just detect the NiMiQ 91and 82 signals , or by a simple software upgrade other signals aswell. The device need only have an led or tone sound to indicate the right signal is detected. It can run online attached to the technicians regular meter to provide power, but will need to run on 10-20 volts under 200ma and capable of spikes to 30 volts . If it's not too much to add it's own lithium battery charge module that accepts a small battery with step up to run satellite voltage at upto 500 ma to run some antenae on its own that would be a nice bonus but overall cost is the most important factor. Coaxial cable connectors are used for input and output.
The schematics for the signals to detect and other operating factors will be part of the project research, the standard dish network lnbf and the dish pro plus dual lnbf operating capability is the minimum requirement.
