Your goal will be to develop a FUSE userspace filesystem for Linux.
The filesystem will support all basic operations, including directory listing, file read and write.
Authentication will be done over HTTPS (one simple GET request over HTTPS).
Directory listing and create/delete/rename/etc file operations will be made over JSON API.
File data reading will be made by a regular GET download request.
File data writing will be made by
The JSON API specification is very simple and will be provided to the selected winner.
The JSON format will be consistent so you can safely write own parser for it.
You must understand how to maintain connection pools, sockets and background threads.
You must be able to setup inmemory caches for downloaded data (parts of file content).
For example, if a file is read, it is downloaded at the background by other thread and put into memory cache, while each particular read operation returns immediately as soon as it has the data in the cache.
You may link the resulting binary to external libraries only after mutual agreement.
You will provide full source code including Makefile to compile with gcc.
I am a senior software developer and I have a clear understanding of the difficulty of this project, so I don't expect your bid to go any higher than $200, and your job should not take much longer than 3 days.
