WHAT I NEED: A small Windows database software (very similar to Windows Address Book) with usual features like new, edit, delete and find. New records to be added manually (like in Windows Address Book) or automatically by scanning ID card on a TWAIN scanner (I'll pay for OCR library). Optional step to verify scanned fingerprint (if any) from ID card against fingerprint reader (I'll pay for fingerprint library). Deliverables are 1) Windows installer file, 2) Documentation OTHER REQUIREMENTS: 1) Should work on Windows XP and Vista. 2) Responsive and easy to use... must not be sluggish. 3) Look & feel like Office 2007 (or at least Office 2003). 4) Typical Microsoft workflow (Windows Address Book is a good example). 5) Login with 2 user levels - Admin & User. Admin can manage users, export to Excel, and enable disable fingerprint step. SPECIFIC EXPERTISE THAT I AM SEEKING: I need an experienced VB or VC++ programmer. Candidate should be comfortable with developing Windows software with SQL Server Express. DELIVERY TIMEFRAME: To be delivered asap for fixed fee. Will require ongoing future enhancements for which I'll pay you by the hour. If you do a good job on this, I've got other projects lined up for you.
