I need a C-programmer

Have a small project to. view a firmware update program which has a few scripts written in C. Would like to get an understanding of the programming (process/sequence/application and application of called modules (flash programs). Once a more "English" understanding of the programming system is understood I may require some adjustments and modifications to the script files . These are for older automotive hardware firmware updating and original support is not available. On board PCB boot loading /flashing firmware would be a bonus.
