Windows-10 /-11 printer management in c/c++:
We need an extension for our kiosk software to take over the printer control.
Our kiosk software works with the administrator account and does not allow any other accounts.
The kiosk software is a program that allows access to the PC via a money deposit. You can do everything you want on the PC in the paid period.
In an earlier version (up to Windows 7) there was a printer management, but this is no longer compatible with Windows 10/11 and must therefore be rewritten.
The following functions should be implemented:
The Windows printer management should be password protected to not allow any changes to the printer settings:
- Add Printer
- Change default printer,
- Restart printing manually
- Etc.

Via a configuration menu, which is also password protected, it should be possible to select which printers are monitored.
In addition, the program should have an interface to our software to programmatically execute the following functions.
- Pause printing
- Restart printing
- Cancel print
- Read out / transfer printer status
- Read out / transfer the page number of the printout
Interface Description:
For the selected printers, when the user wants to print something, the printer module should stop/pause the print job, pass the print and the page number of the print to our software.
Our software then sends the command to print or cancel the print.
Should be printed:
After printing, a status message should be passed from the printer module to our software that the print was successful or an error occurred.
