I need a prototype circuit design using raspberry pi / Adruino type components that can perform the following basic tasks.
1. Sense motion of an animal movement.
2. Determine the approximate distance of the object.
3. Send a wireless signal to another raspberry pi device with some basic logic to take one or more of the following actions.
A. Turn on a servo motor that can waive a small flag type item.
B. Turn on some type of mechanical switch like a pin that could pop out and ring a mechanical bell.
C. Play a sound over a small speaker for a 1-10 second duration.
4. communicate with another of the same type of device indicating whether or not the animal is still in proximity?
This project involves actually building a working pro type with the circuit and software required to demonstrate that it works.

I think the big challenge here is the pi-to-pi communication. It would seem that somehow bluetooth could be used to do that.
Please see the attached diagram to give you an example of what I am looking for.
To clarify, I am looking for a 'working prototype' that includes the circuit design and functioning software.
