Macintosh PackageMaker Script

I know how to create Installers with Apple's Packagemaker but don't know how to write a simple script to check if an application exists prior to writing a plugin into one of its installed folders. So, here's what's needed:

I have an application that needs to write a plugin into Photoshop's Automate Folder. I'm supporting Adobe Photoshop CS2 and higher on Macintosh and assume the next version of Photoshop will be CS6. So the script needs to check whatever versions of Adobe Photoshop is installed (CS2-CS3-CS4-CS5-CS6) so Packagemaker only installs the Plugin into the installed version(s) Automate Folder. Right now its generating folders for Photoshop versions not installed on the end users machine.

A little note on its correct use would also be helpful.
