The plan is to build an device that pulls data from a solar inverter and pushes it via the internet to an app. Then homeowners can monitor their solar and battery systems remotely, from their phone/pc.
We have the communication protocol for the inverter. The model is SUNGROW SH5K+
We can get the app designed ourselves, would you do the front end coding as well for the app? Otherwise once we can port the data, I can get a front end coder to go from there.
My feeling is that we will do this through a Raspberri Pi, Modbus and Python. Though I really have no idea and am open to suggestions. What's important is security in how we connect. Also we will be installing a lot of them once it's complete, so price of hardware, size and ease of install are factors.
It's something we want to develop over the coming weeks, and imporve over the years.
