Basically a Qualitative Research. See attached file for an outline.
This research work is geared towards laying bare the inefficiencies associated with the retrieval of web information. Due to the enormous growth of information shared over the web, users often encounter difficulties in the process of retrieving relevant information at when needed. However, the past decade introduced the search engine technology, in an endeavor to enhance the information retrieval on the web. Moreover, the intuitive of the search engine has proven unsatisfactory as it fails to solve the current state of problems, associated with the content description and query processing techniques adopted for information retrieval. Findings made plain in this research, brings to light, the adoption of semantics as a hinge to solving these problems. Furthermore, this paper evaluates the information retrieval process using various ontologies such as the boolean, vector and probability, with recommendations on how to effectively tackle the flaws associated with these models using semantics.
