Our client seeks submissions for an e-mail newsletter that focuses on computer tips & techniques. This newsletter is published daily to 125,000 readers and focuses on tips and tricks the average computer user can utilize. They are willing to pay for computer tips and definitions, but the best/fastest money will be earned by writing feature website articles covering any and all aspects of computing.
All submissions should be written at a level anyone can understand. The goal is to show the average user how to use his or her computer. Most tech manuals and books assume the user is already computer literate, but this publication / web site is designed to help everyone learn their computer, not just techies.
For example, let's say you had a tip that involved opening the Mouse properties under the control panel. Most publications would simply tell the user to open the Mouse icon under the Control Panel.
We are looking for more detail than that. Our client tells their readers EXACTLY how it's done - Hit the Start Button, Settings, Control Panel. Then double-click the Mouse icon.
That's what we're looking for.
Submissions should be well written, require a minimum of editing, include relevant screen shots, and be presented in a light-hearted style. Our client likes to entertain while they teach. If a submission reads like a high school biology textbook, it will be rejected.
Types of Submissions:
We are looking for general Windows, Internet, and e-mail tips. Tips that relate to one specific program or hardware device usually are not appropriate for this publication.
The newsletter has two primary tips sections – The first section is presented in a Q&A style and generally covers a topic beginners would be interested in. The second section is geared towards everyone; but still needs to be written in a way that beginners can understand.
If interested, please respond to us at your earliest convenience so that we may send over a sample. Please note that the success of our working relationship depends on four things; the quality, length, usefulness, and turn around time of your submissions. Since our client is primarily seeking articles that are only ~400 words, with a couple of screen shots, the ability to quickly develop useful topics could easily earn you twice your normal income and many other benefits.

My turnaround would be 24 hours for an article. I have been teaching adult learners software and hardware for the past 4 years. Henceforth, I am very atuned to the needs of total beginners.
