Tasks to do in part 1: Project init and Stereo calibration
1. Create non-public repository for code exchange on bitbucket.
2. Make a survey about current open source software available. Read according publications. Push results to repo. Check software 3d-underworld, SLStudio, [login to view URL] for useful information.
3. Define rough architecture of the whole project, push to repo
4. Implement or extend some open source project in C++ using OpenCV 3 and "MS Visual Studio Community IDE" to achieve calibration of stereo camera setup (using two webcams). The calibration deviations must be below 1 pixel. Compare to results of "GML Camera calibration toolbox" tool. Push sources to repo.
Notes on implementation:
4.1 Split calibration into two steps: Step 1: Image aquisition/storage on disk (in PNG format) and Step 2: Calibration from saved images (e.g. given folder name), write camera intrinsic and extrinsic params to disk in format similar to GML Toolbox. The calibration pattern is up to You, but it must be simple (Printed on paper or displayed on monitor)
The project must compile "from scratch" if pulled from bitbucket. You can assume OpenCV installation performed correctly in default way. You can also assume me having C++ and OpenCV experience.
Please apply only if You have OpenCV and C++ experience, some math skills will be required later on.
Depending on results there might be subsequent projects to create final structured light software.
