This is a copy & paste task.
You have to search terms from a csv file in a pdf and copy corresponding data to the csv file.
There are about 260 lines in the csv file, i.e. about 260 entries are necessary. You need about 6 minutes per 10 lines, i.e. 2.5 to 3 hs for this task.
As I don’t need the task to be completed very soon, please do some other things in between to keep your concentration level up.
If I am satisfied with the results, I have more work of the same type for you.
Detailed explanation of task:
There are two accompanying files, one pdf and one csv.
The csv file contains a drug/substance name (one or more words) and the name(s) of the (chemical) substances behind the drug. These names need to be searched in the pdf file (Acrobat search function), and the corresponding patent number(s) named therein need to be copied into the csv list. Please use a new cell in a new column for every patent number relating to a drug/substance name.
Patent numbers are typically 7-digit numbers, very few are 5-digit plus the letters RE in the beginning.
Further important notes:
First, please search the entire phrase of the drug name, which may comprise several words. There might be other variants of the drug name (with less or more words), please ignore those. Make sure that you only copy patent numbers for the exact phrase.
Second, please do a cross-check with the NDA# (i.e. an N followed by the 6-digit NDA#). Substance name plus NDA# must match in all cases.
Third, sometimes the same drug (exactly the same phrase and the NDA#) appears several times in the pdf file. Sometimes, the patent numbers involved are the same, sometimes they involve new numbers. Make sure that you copy all patent numbers, but all numbers only once!
Fourth, not in all cases the pdf file comprises the drug name, or there are no patent numbers for the drug names. If there are none, please enter the term NA.
Fifth, some drug names (incl. NDA#) appear twice. In these very few cases just copy your results, please.
Sixth, if there should be more patent numbers than columns indicated, please feel free to add more columns.
Seventh, if you find any anomalies in the structure, anything that does not match the pattern described above, please enter some notes for me into the list.
