Our company creates software for American universities and colleges to help them source, price, rent, and sell textbooks to their students.
We want to add publishers to our product and allow them to promote their textbooks to professors, but first we need to manually teach our product what courses map to what subjects. (e.g. BIO 101 is Introduction to Biology at this school, but it's Earth Science at another school). We have a way to do this dynamically -- meaning that once you select a subject mapping, our product will suggest a list of other courses that might apply.
This project involves a lot of searching through university course catalogs to find course description and titles. It requires the freelancer to have an excellent understanding of English and of university subjects, and requires a bit of discernment for those situations where a course is close to but doesn't exactly fit a subject.
Just to check if you've read the description, please include the word "waltzing" in your proposal.
I've created training content and videos, and I'll be doing this project alongside you if you have any questions.
You will be asked to answer the following questions when submitting a proposal:
1. This project involves using American university catalogs, and they can be tough to navigate sometimes. Can you tell me the course code for Orbital Mechanics at Cal Poly Pomona?
2. This project requires discernment as well. Which of these subjects does ACCT 230 at U of Minnesota Moorhead apply to? It can apply to more than one or none. •Financial Statement Analysis •Legal Environment of Business •Principles of Accounting
