Hello and good evening. I am faced with the overwhelming task of stocking my web store. Precisely what we are putting together is an online grocery store, to be more exact a Grocery Shopping & Delivery Service. Our actual website acts as a means of getting the customers desired products wishlist into our possession. We do not operate a physical warehouse so we use our local retailers products and prices.
I have around 10,000 images (products) all in their specific categories, some are duplicates in other categories, all punctuated in proper csv formatting so we can easily load the entire database into Excel. A few examples of our file names are as follows (I have already found and implemented the prices to about 1200 products)...
Bisquick_ Pancake Mix, 96 Oz, [url removed, login to view]
Carnation_ Vitamins A & D Added Fat Free Evaporated Milk, 12 Oz, [url removed, login to view]
Nestle Nesquik_ Chocolate Syrup, 22 Oz, [url removed, login to view]
The current format for the majority of these file names is...
Manufacture_ Product Description, [url removed, login to view]
The Final format for these file names needs to look like this...
Manufacture_ Product Description, Weight, Price, UPC [url removed, login to view]
The actual job consist of two parts, searching/browsing one specific website for our products prices ([url removed, login to view]) and one (if necessary, two) specific website(s) for the products UPC code ([url removed, login to view] &/or [url removed, login to view]).
You will familiarize yourself with and be responsible for creating your own account with the kwikeesystems and itemmaster websites. These accounts are free to setup but take about a day to process. Attention to detail is a must and very important as we are liable for misprinted information.
You will gather these Prices and UPC codes and insert them into the corresponding file names, in the format mentioned above. If through some miracle way of programming you can automate any/all of this task please do.
Some of the products Prices and/or UPC codes will be irretrievable. If this is the case then the corresponding lack of info will be replaced with a * sign.
All the current products are on our ftp server which you will download the entire folder and work from that. I have been using a Software called Flash Renamer to rename my file names, but simple windows explorer will do the trick as well.
Please if you PM me, please include a brief description on how you plan to approach this task, how long you estimate it to take and how many people will be assisting in the completion of this job. Any PM's not containing this information will tell me you didnt read the entire ad, and be a waist of both our time. So please, let's have a plan and a deadline.
