vbScript

Hi - need vbScripts to process urls and track a few numbers

I'm scraping [url removed, login to view] to get all new jobs

I use scraper called Web Content Extractor by newprosoft

A) [url removed, login to view] search page

* always check

1) A person with non-competitive appointment eligibility? No YES (YES)

2) View Description Click here for more information on Descriptions

Detailed (BRIEF)

3) Show Jobs Posted: LAST 24 HOURS

leave all others blank

The brief report the query returns

[url removed, login to view];salmin=&salmax=&paygrademin=&paygrademax=&FedEmp=Y&tm=1d&sort=rv&vw=b&brd=3876&ss=0&FedPub=Y&SUBMIT1.x=68&SUBMIT1.y=25&SUBMIT1=Search+for+Jobs

50 records each page . I can scrape those easily

Before I do that, I need "Jobs 1 to 50 of 2329" pared to 2329/50 so you can loop an array to generate 2329/50 subsequent urls,

[url removed, login to view];pg=*2*&FedEmp=Y&tm=1d&sort=rv&vw=b&brd=3876&ss=0&FedPub=Y

the *2* is the magic number without astericks.

2329/50 = 50

so you'll make a .txt file with

1)the initial search string as record #1

[url removed, login to view];salmin=&salmax=&paygrademin=&paygrademax=&FedEmp=Y&tm=1d&sort=rv&vw=b&brd=3876&ss=0&FedPub=Y&SUBMIT1.x=68&SUBMIT1.y=25&SUBMIT1=Search+for+Jobs

2) and 2 ... 50 urls as

Rec 2) [url removed, login to view];pg=2&FedEmp=Y&tm=1d&sort=rv&vw=b&brd=3876&ss=0&FedPub=Y

...

Rec 50)

[url removed, login to view];pg=50&FedEmp=Y&tm=1d&sort=rv&vw=b&brd=3876&ss=0&FedPub=Y

These will be fed into the program - see command line on WCE(Web Content Extractor)

B) Then I want to keep track of the number of jobs I get each day plus the date

march 25 2008, 2329

march 26 2008, 1597

march 27 2008, 345 etc

for now put this in a text file, later on SQL insertion

for now, 2 deliverables
