Engine testing arrangement with AC compressor:


1. The unit will be on single skid with wheels to enable easy movement.

2. Load on engine by AC compressor can be checked at various operating conditions.

3. Ease of connecting refrigerant pipes & cables from compressor to suitable connection

points on AC testing skid.

4. Battery not required.

5. Operation:

a. The compressor clutch will be operated from control panel to load / unload


b. This unit is designed to operate for 3 compressor speeds. As per selected

compressor speed, matching load can be selected with evaporator load selector

switch. After this is done the compressor will have constant cooling load at

evaporator matching to its running speed.

c. Variation in condenser inlet air temperature can be achieved by operating heaters

provided for this purpose. This will increase / decrease load on compressor. This

is for simulation of actual ambient conditions.

d. Control panel designed for safety & ease of operation.

e. Digital temperature controller will operate compressor clutch as per set

temperature for evaporator.

f. Digital display of working parameters like air temperature, Evaporator

temperature, and refrigerant pressures is provided.

Single skid mounted on wheels comprising of:

1. Condenser : Suitable for cooling capacity of 10.3 KW running on refrigerant R134a

a. Fin tube coil.

b. 3 speed fan.

c. Heaters to change inlet air temperature.

2. Evaporator: Cooling capacity 10.3 KW.

a. Tank & immersed coil system.

b. Suitable to run as per 3 capacities at 3 AC compressor speeds.

c. Tank in SS 304.

d. Coil in copper tube.

e. Required capacity immersion type heaters to apply heating load.

3. Refrigeration piping kit for connecting compressor – condenser – evaporator. All

piping flexible hose refrigeration grade. Pipe fittings like filter-drier, sight glass, 1 no.

refrigerant charging point.

4. Power required:

a. Condenser fan, heaters etc. to be operated on 1 ph, 50 Hz, 220 V AC supply.

b. Compressor clutch to be operated by 24 V DC supply from control panel.

5. Control panel:

a. In powder coated sheet metal enclosure.

b. Main on / off switch.

c. Selector switch for operating unit at 3 compressor speeds.

d. Selector switch for operating condenser at 3 inlet air temperatures.

e. Digital temperature indicator controllers for condenser inlet air & evaporator.

f. Digital voltage & current meters.

g. Digital display of refrigerant pressures.

h. Indicating lamps for compressor clutch, heaters.

6. Set of connecting cables with terminations.
