Repair Drupal website gallery and install updates

I get the following error message when I log in and try to edit my gallery.

I also have other messages on there which say I need to update certain things.
I have no idea how to do this.I work in concrete and have just taken 20 mins to type this with 1 finger.
I had my site built by a guy in the states and he has told me that he cant sort this out and that I should seek help elsewhere.
I would also like to change the appearance of my gallery to have the different categories listed on the side instead of across the top and also have the tabs larger.
I will gladly negotiate and pay through paypal
