How fast can you edit 100 000 words?
Each job is different! It depends on the number of changes needed but I have edited novels of a similar number of words within one week.
Proposal:
I registered with Freelancer two years ago and have 176 reviews, all positive. English is my first language and my skills include technical writing, editing, proofreading, and transcribing. My work has included editing documents that have been translated into English, in particular, from Spanish and Dutch, as well as several novels that have been translated from other languages.
In addition, for one year I have been the copy editor for The International Journal of Wellbeing, an online journal, and about six months ago I began as the copy editor for the Blind Foundation of New Zealand.
For two years I was a copy editor for Elsevier Science Publishers in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, rewriting text by authors who were not native English speakers.
I have worked with individual clients to bring more than 25 books to publication and seven of these clients have rehired me to work on further books.
Having been a teacher of English in high school for four years, I have spent many hours making corrections and suggestions for students' essays. For an additional two years I was a teacher of English as a second language.
