Hello,
I am looking for someone for a long term project (5-10 hours weekly (or more if you want) for several months). Please only apply if you are a native speaker or very close to that level. Bellow will be a test file attached- please read through this description and follow the instructions from it to apply properly.
I have some automatically generated content (Google translated content from English to this language). I need someone to proofread it and edit it, removing all the errors while doing so, but also fixing other issues like wrong translation, making the text more readable/nicer, making it looks like a person wrote it and not a robot (so it doesn't look like translated by GT) and make the text make sense (if it doesn't in it's current form).
The goal is to have the final text (after you do your part) look like a native speaker wrote it (so that a random reader wouldn't look at the text and say "this looks like a something a machine would create"). If something doesn't make sense, check the context or the source material- you can do whatever changes you want in the text to make it make sense (if it doesn't already).
As already mentioned in the first paragraph, I would have plenty of these if the test file is done properly and we can agree on rate. There would be MINIMALLY around 600,000 words to proofread, and the project might be even 1,8m words in the end. Disregard the project budget (250-750$), there is no fixed budget, it only depends on what we agree upon (it can be 10x of what is written here).
To see who would be the right candidate for this job, I have attached a test file bellow. One file is the test file in this language (which needs to be proofread), while the other file ("English house") is the source material which you can use to make sure that the test file is translated properly. The context of this article (and all future ones) is about what does it mean to dream about a house. It is possible that GT got the word "dream" wrong, and it translated it as "desire" (which is a mistake) so please have that in mind.
Please proofread the test file following the instructions from above, and while working on it, please track how much time you needed to complete the file. Besides that, please also, when applying, write what is your expected hourly compensation for this kind of work (so I can get a rough idea).
