I have a great track record for paying on my projects. However, DO NOT bid if you plan on offering to do the job for $120 only to find out you actually want $400. That’s not how this site is designed to work.
I'm looking for someone to help design and create an electrical extension cord designed for use in the US. The cord is a typical 3-wire (2 phase plus ground) cord, 110VAC @ 60HZ. The plug and/or receptacle end will need to have a light incorporated into it and this light needs to illuminate the ENTIRE LENGTH of the cable. I want the cable to be 50ft and 100ft in length. Therefore 2 lights (one at each end) may be required.
The light needs to have an on/off function so that it can be activated manually and not always be on when plugged in. The light will need to get its power from the plug that the extension cord plugs into.
The cost needs to be as economical as possible. Possibly using LED(s) for the illumination source. Otherwise, I made an example using a green laser which seems to be considerably brighter than an LED source. But again the total cost of the cable needs to be reasonable.
I have put together a very simple example of what I would like to have made - this is using a plastic side-glow type fiber optic material that runs the length of the electrical wires and is illuminated by the light source on only one end.
There shouldn't be much work required because the concept is essentially put together. It's the final, cleanup that I would like to have and a nice, functional demonstration sample.
