Modelling, Simulating and visualizing the performance of the communications in 4G LTE using MATLAB+SIMULINK

The Main purpose is to use any of the above networking tools and build a 4G LTE network depicting the network of SPECTRANET LTD, Abuja. (Using the information from collected data)

FROM DATA OBTAINED AND STUDIED: The parameters of the network configuration:

NETWORK STRUCTURE: UE, eNodeB, MME/SGW/PDNGW

Duplex Mode (Mode of operation) FDD/TDD

Radio Frame Structure: 10 ms

Access Technique: Downlink (OFDMA) , UPLINK (SC:FDMA)

Channel Bandwidth: 20 Mhz

Frequency: 2.3Ghz

MIMO : 4x4

Number of Physical Resource Block: 100

Modulation Schemes: QPSK, 16QAM, 64QAM

Average number of nodes (enodeBs): 145

Average number of Cells: 403

Average Number of users per cell: 50 UEs

Average Throughput of the Network: 2.8 Mbps

Poor performing cells average throughput: 0.8mbps

Experimentations:

After, the build-up and functional:

We should be able to electronically monitor the behavior of the network elements. Especially in the areas of performance and Resource management

Observe the throughput performance of each cell and network performance generally.

Upon iterations of certain metrics:

Parameters such that can cause INCREASE OR DECREASE in

1. congestion,

2. Delay {RRT: Round trip time},

3. Packet drops,

4. Inter Symbol interference (ISI),

5. Inter channel interference (ICI),

6. Multi-path effect

And so on, for the purposes of research and understanding the direct impact of such metrics on existing network (Spectranet, Abuja).

We should be able to observe the effects on throughput performance when iteration is done on the following subjects.

1. PRB (Physical resource Block)utilization and Transport block Size (TBS)

2. Number of users or mobile terminals, or user Equipment (UE)

3. Transmit Power and Receive Power,

4. Modulation Scheme : Adaptive Coding and modulation (ACM,)

5. MCS Index (Modulation and coding rate scheme)

6. SINR (SIGNAL To interference Noise Ratio)

7. BLER (Block Error Ratio)

8. RSRQ(Reference Signal Received Quality )

9. RSRP (Reference Signal Received Power)

10. RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator)

11. Any of the above parameter that can apply.

We should be able to observe the direct and indirect effect when changes are made to the above chosen parameters.

Does it improves the network performance or deteriorates the performance?

Finally, we analyze observations; make tabular and graphical presentation of the observed results.

Meanwhile, please kindly check attached document. While the two documents discussed the project objectives, the Excel sheets contained the data for the analysis.

Please, there are some minor mistakes. The MODELLING, SIMULATING and visualization should be done with MATLAB+SIMULINK . You don't have to send any software to us. We have that already. Thanks
