I have an idea for a device that I have managed to build from some "off-the-shelf" devices cobbled together plus some custom built circuitry. What I need now, to take this idea to the next step, is to hire a true electronics engineer to build a prototype of my design. The device is for vehicle video (think backup camera) and will operate on 12 volts. The most difficult part, I suspect, will be manipulation of the video...I need to be able to flip the video left to right, top to bottom or both. The device will also need the ability to overlay text on the video.
Since the ultimate goal of this project is a finished prototype suitable for use in demonstrations, the individual I award this project to will need to be capable of:
1) Choosing appropriate components (ICs, etc.)
2) Designing the required circuitry
3) Writing the necessary firmware\software
4) Generating the design documentation (ie. Eagle files for the PCB, and bill of materials for the build)
5) Building (or selecting) an enclosure.
Since this project is for a device I plan to patent, I cannot divulge specifics at this point and will require that any engineer I discuss the project with first sign an NDA.
I am located in the Louisville, KY area and would prefer to hire someone with whom I can meet in person to describe the details of the project and discuss ongoing issues that may arise as the project progresses.

I am professional aerospace and avionics domain engineer and I have worked on Head Up display device for aircraft use. your project is quite manageable but I am afraid about the budget!
