$250-750 USD

Paid on delivery
Startup in exploration phase with a budget looking for consultation and potential design contract to produce a MANET, possibly using TI's CC3200MOD chip. The ideal candidate will be able to recommend a course of action and be able to fulfill the design and implementation of all circuitry. Knowledge of mass procurement facilities is a plus. Limited software engeneering support is available insofar as it relates interacting with the hardware's interface and beyond. A hardware engineer with that expertice as well would be most advantageous. Since we are in an exploration phase, there will necessarily be slight time delays between strategic advice, conceptual design, implementation, testing, and fulfullment. As such, this could amount to a fairly significant amount of work over time. What is in this budget? *** The budget is for strategic and design consultation. A final outcome is a defined course of action and a design specification that can be implemented. Additional funds will be allocated to project continuation *** The end goal of the project is to have hardware that creates a mobile ad hoc network that can be accessed via an API in devices such as smart phones and tablets.

I have done this sort of thing before. The deliverable is a proposed schedule. What will be described is a quick way to build prototypes, probably using one of the Arduino family, followed by a credible method of putting the thing into limited production in the USA. I am in Seattle. Where are you? Once a few (6?) examples of the prototype re built, the software can then be written for the iPad, etc., while the main production effort moves ahead in parallel. I would recommend that the first 10,000 be built here, and only then would offshoring be considered.

Hello, I have experience with CC3000 and CC3200 - on the latter I wrote all software including embedded HTTP server with JSON API support, animation uploading (it was WiFi RGB LED strip driver) to a SD card and WiFi configuration. It even had a script interpreter so one could write simple animation scripts (like rainbow animations). I saw another project with similar content, I suppose you're the author of that project. I recall the project mentioned a mobile phone app. I'm seeing how it could work using WiFi Direct functionality of the CC3200. However, only Android and Blackberry (and Windows Phone to some extent) have WiFi Direct support. I'm afraid that iOS devices, including iPhone would not work. If you consider iOS devices then I'd recommend Bluetooth Low Energy (Bluetooth Smart) chips, although those will simultaneously support only few devices in a network. I need to know more about your requirements (mainly mobile phones needed to support). On the design part, I can design and prototype the PCB and implement the software (+15 years of experience as a programmer). I can even contact manufacturing firm here in Poland and handle mass production. I have contacts, including electronics engineers, that will handle some work for me (prototyping, low series manufacturing and preparing for mass production). Last month I was designing my own project, that includes embedded microprocessor, wireless transceiver chip, antenna, etc. so the topic is fresh for me. Kind regards
