I have an ESP32-D dev board and three unused PAA5100JE optical-flow sensors. I only need to bring one online first, confirm it streams clean motion data, then replicate the solution for the other two. What I already have • A sketch that compiles but never sees the sensor • All parts on hand, breadboarded and powered • Standard Arduino IDE installed on my end for quick testing What I need from you within the next couple of hours 1. Corrected or freshly written code that initializes the PAA5100JE, verifies it over SPI, and outputs X/Y delta values on the serial monitor at 115 200 bps. 2. A clear wiring diagram (hand-drawn is fine if neat, Fritzing/KiCad even better) that shows every pin between the ESP32-D and the sensor, including power, ground, CS, MISO, MOSI, SCK and any required pull-ups or caps. 3. Short guidance notes so I can duplicate the hookup for the remaining two sensors once the first is proven. Acceptance I will upload the sketch, wire exactly as shown, and see valid motion data in the serial console. If that works, project is done and paid immediately. If you have worked with the PAA5100JE or similar (PMW3901, PAW3902, etc.) on an ESP32 before, you should fly through this. Let’s knock it out right now.

Absolutely , I can get this moving quickly. I’ll focus on bringing one PAA5100JE online first, then make the setup easy to replicate for the other two sensors. I can provide corrected Arduino IDE code for the ESP32-D that initializes the sensor over SPI, confirms communication, and streams clean X/Y delta values at 115200 bps. I’ll also include a clear wiring diagram covering power, ground, CS, MISO, MOSI, SCK, and any needed pull-ups or capacitors, plus concise notes for duplicating the hookup across all three sensors. Since you already have the board powered and breadboarded, I’ll keep the solution practical and fast to validate on your side. The goal is simple: upload, wire exactly as shown, and see valid motion data in the serial console. Let’s knock it out right now. Miguel

Hi, I can help bring your PAA5100JE optical-flow sensor online with ESP32-D and provide working Arduino code, clear SPI wiring, and duplication notes for the remaining sensors. The best solution is to first review your current sketch, ESP32-D pin mapping, sensor breakout pinout, voltage level, SPI wiring, and serial output issue. Then I’ll correct or rewrite the Arduino code to initialize the sensor, verify communication over SPI, and print clean X/Y motion delta values at 115200 baud. I’m comfortable with ESP32, Arduino IDE, SPI sensors, optical-flow modules, PMW3901/PAW3902-style devices, embedded C/C++, sensor debugging, serial monitoring, wiring review, and quick bring-up support. Deliverables will include: * Corrected/fresh Arduino sketch * PAA5100JE SPI initialization * X/Y delta serial output * ESP32-D wiring diagram * CS/MISO/MOSI/SCK/power/GND mapping * Notes for pull-ups/caps if required * Guidance to duplicate for 3 sensors * Quick troubleshooting steps I’ll focus on getting the first sensor detected and streaming valid motion data quickly, then making the setup easy to repeat for the other two sensors. Best regards Ankit

Compiles but never sees the sensor—I've hit this exact wall before with optical-flow sensors on ESP32, and it's almost always the SPI mode or the power-on reset sequence. I'll fix it, not guess at it. Here's what I bring to this: → I've shipped multiple projects with PMW3901 and PAW3902 on ESP32, so the PAA5100JE's register map and quirks aren't new to me → You get corrected code with proper init and verification, a pin-exact wiring diagram including caps and pull-ups, and duplication notes for the other two sensors → I can have everything to you within the hour—well before your deadline I'll do this for $40. Upload, wire it as shown, and you'll see motion data. Let's knock it out.

Hi Edwardsville I understand you need a working ESP32‑D link to a PAA5100JE sensor fast. My ten years of C and Arduino work on ESP32 ensure reliable results. I will write a clean Arduino sketch that sets up VSPI, checks the sensor ID and prints X Y deltas at 115200. I will also provide a neat Fritzing wiring diagram showing power ground CS MISO MOSI SCK and any pull‑ups, plus brief steps to copy the setup for the other two sensors. Do you intend to keep the default VSPI pins or have you moved them Do you require external pull‑up resistors on MISO Is the sensor powered from 3.3 V I can deliver code and diagram within two hours let me know if I should start

Hi there, I can get your PAA5100JE sensor online and streaming clean X/Y motion data to your Serial Monitor at 115200 bps within the next 1–2 hours. The reason your current sketch likely fails to see the sensor is usually due to improper register initialization sequence or SPI mode/timing mismatches specific to the PAA5100/PMW3901 family on the ESP32. Here is what I will deliver immediately upon accepting: Tested & Clean Arduino Sketch: A complete, well-commented C++ code using native SPI.h that handles register setup, verifies the sensor ID over SPI, and streams Delta X and Delta Y values cleanly to the Serial Monitor at 115200 baud. Clear Wiring Schematic: A pin-by-pin hookup guide (ESP32-D to PAA5100JE) detailing power, ground, SCLK, MOSI, MISO, CS, and note on pull-up/decoupling requirements. Multi-Sensor Expansion Guide: Step-by-step instructions showing how to run all 3 PAA5100JE sensors on the same SPI bus simply by assigning individual Chip Select (CS) pins in the code. All code will be compatible with the standard Arduino IDE on your end so you can upload and test instantly. I am ready to start immediately. Let’s get this solved right now!

Hi, I’d start by checking the existing SPI setup and PAA5100JE wiring before rewriting the sensor initialization. Delivering verified SPI communication and clean X/Y motion output at 115200 bps is the goal. I’ve handled embedded setups where sensor bring-up required careful SPI configuration, pin mapping, and repeatable wiring documentation. I’m ready to troubleshoot the current sketch, provide the corrected Arduino code and wiring diagram, then document the hookup so the remaining two sensors can be replicated easily. I can focus on getting the first sensor proven quickly and deliver a clean, reliable setup within your requested timeframe. Best regards.

Hello, I see the challenge is to successfully initialize the PAA5100JE sensor and ensure it communicates effectively with the ESP32-D. I will develop a precise sketch that sets up the SPI communication, handles sensor initialization, and reads X/Y delta values, outputting them at the specified baud rate. The wiring diagram will detail connections for power, ground, and SPI pins, including any necessary pull-up resistors. I will ensure the code includes checks for proper sensor response, addressing potential edge cases. The deliverables will include a tested code sketch, a neatly drawn wiring diagram, and concise notes for replicating the setup for additional sensors. I have successfully integrated similar optical-flow sensors with ESP32 boards in the past. I can start immediately. Regards.

Hi, Your immediate goal is getting one PAA5100JE talking reliably to the ESP32-D, proving clean X/Y motion data over SPI, and then making the setup easy to replicate for the other two sensors. Here's how I'll help: Review or rewrite the initialization and SPI communication code. Verify sensor detection before reading motion data. Output X/Y delta values at 115200 baud. Provide a clear ESP32-D to PAA5100JE wiring diagram. Note any required power, pull-up, capacitor, or CS considerations. Give concise duplication steps for adding sensors two and three. Help troubleshoot quickly if the first upload does not detect the device. I can work directly from your current sketch or start from a clean implementation. One question before we begin: which exact PAA5100JE breakout board or module are you using? Best regards, Christophe
