The MatLab model for direction finding will estimate the impact of differences in elevation (between sensor nodes and target emitter) in computing the geo-location accuracy when using 3 TDOA Sensors.
Specifically, the model will be help answer the question: At what differences in elevation between sensors and an identified target emitter will geo-location accuracy suffer, if elevation data is not utilized in estimating the geo-location of the emitter
The following assumptions will be used in developing the model:
Implement the Ellipsoid TDoA method and Cross Correlation Technique for estimating Time Difference of Arrival.
Path loss propagation model for dense urban, suburban and rural regions.
Space Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) 1 Arc-Second Global Digital Elevation Data
Applicable for Broadcast UHF/VHF Frequency Bands
The model will simulate Geolocation Accuracy with ability to change the following scenarios:
1. Distance between TDOA sensors and target emitter
2. Elevation difference between TDOA sensors and target emitter
Both the above cases, should at a minimum be run under the following conditions: Dense Urban and Rural setting
