i would like a scraping quote please, to extract data from a public website. I've tried using the Excel Web Query function, but the website uses Java so the data extracted comes through as blanks.
The data I need comes from a single Java web page only, and is always in a fixed place on the page. The data itself changes dependent on 2x string values that are within the URL, in the "[url removed, login to view]" format.
In an Excel file, I will provide a list of these URLs sorted by date. What I would like to do in Excel, is to be able to key in a date, click a macro button, and have the data pulled from the website for each of the URL's for the date selected - and have that inserted into my spreadsheet alongside the URL rows I have provided. If this data is already present, it should be overwritten/refreshed. There are likely to be a maximum of 100 URLs for each date, so it will need to loop through each of them until they are all extracted. There will be just one Excel file, that I will add to over time.
From the website, I need a total of 40 data items for each URL provided, to be inserted into the spreadsheet I will provide. 39 of the data items are simple % figures, the 40th item is a piece of text.
I hope that all makes sense, please let me know if you need me to clarify anything. I need this work done as soon as possible, I think it will be quite a simple task for someone with the correct understanding and skill-set required.
