2008.04.05 Excel macro

The task is to combine the contents of two cells, while deleting the cells (shifting left) that the contents where taken from.

For example, there are three cells as shown:

A1 : A2 : A3

The : brown : dog

When the operation is performed, cell A1 will have the contents: The brown dog. Meanwhile, cells A2 and A3 will have been deleted (shifted left).

It would be very useful if this operation could be performed on a selection of cells. In other words, the next row might have three cells with contents as follows:

B1 : B2 : B3

The : red : fox

So, you could highlight cells A! to B3 and combine the contents of A2 and A3 into A1, and the contents of B2 and B3 into B1, while deleting (shifting left) A2 and A3, and B2 and B3.

If this "combine and delete" macro could be displayed as a prominent button somewhere, it would be useful, or maybe even in the right click menu.
