I need a macro for Excel 365 that will allow me to export specific columns of data to a new CSV file. The exported file must be in CSV tab delimited format. The criteria for selecting the data to export will be based on specific columns. I also need the macro to match data in the other 4 sheets and delete certain rows based on criteria before exporting. Ideal skills for this job include experience with Excel macros and proficiency in VBA.
Match, Delete and Export Excel 365 Macro
This project is based on the enclosed sample active workbook, which has the following worksheets (one in each tab, labeled: Cases, Casework, Comments, Contacts, plan_request
The macro should run in Excel 365.
The macro should basically delete all the entries from a specific “Issuer State” (eg: HI “Hawaii”) from all the worksheets within the workbook. As a reference to crossmatch that entry, the common column is called “Case ID”. Once deleted, export each worksheet to “.csv” text file using their same worksheet names: “[login to view URL]”, “[login to view URL]”, “[login to view URL]”, “[login to view URL]” and “[login to view URL]”. These exported files should have the same information, but without the “HI” entries.
In summary: For each entry where “Issuer State = “HI”, in worksheet “Cases”, delete every row in the “Casework”, “Contacts”, “plan_request” and “Cases” worksheets, where the “Case ID” = “HI”.
The Macro should perform the following 2 steps:
Step A: Delete all the “HI” related rows in all the worksheets based on the "Issuer State" column.
1) Traverse the “Cases” worksheet within the active workbook, and based on the column that contains “Issuer State”, identify the rows where the “Issuer State” is equal to “HI” (Hawaii).
2) For each of those matches, the macro will look into “Casework”, “Contact”, and “plan_request” spreadsheets within that same active workbook, and delete the entire row from those other worksheets, where the “Case ID” cell from the “Case ID” column matches in all the other worksheets.
3) That same row should also be deleted from the original “Cases” worksheet.
Step B: Export worksheets into tab delimited text files:
4) Once deleted, export each worksheet to “.csv” text file using their same worksheet names: “[login to view URL]”, “[login to view URL]”, “[login to view URL]”, “[login to view URL]” and “[login to view URL]” in tab separated values. The end result is that these These exported files should have the same information, but without the “HI” entries (belonging to Hawaii".
