Stata reshape data

Job Description:
I'm looking for some help reshaping a data set from wide to long using Stata. In more detail, I need the long data to contain all the observations, and I do not need to rename any of the variables.
I have a civil war dataset that has one entry for each state involved in a civil war. It then has the years (StartYr1 and EndYr1) that each side was involved in the war as columns (CcodeA and CcodeB). I need the data transformed so that I have an observation for each year each state was involved in that war.
So, for the US Civil War from 1861-1865, there is one entry for the United States and the Confederate States of America (paired together). CcodeA is the USA (2). CcodeB is the CSA (-8; missing state code). The StartYr1 date is 1861. The EndYr1 date is 1865. So the one dataset with a single observation for the US Civil War would now have 10 observations, one each for the US in 1861-1865 and one each for the CSA from 1861-1865.
I will also need the code for the data. That's as important to me as the dataset itself.
