Are you skilled with Google Spreadsheets, and ready to lend me a helping hand for 2,5 hours, for USD 50? (I count on 2 hours efficiently and 0,5 to set up communication and all that.) Let's do it in the nearest days at a time that suits you. Your competence: (First note that no medical insight is required.) in Google Spreadsheets: You are experienced and handy with various formulas including string handling with dates, conditions ("=IF..."), referencing tables with growing data from online input forms, and outputting data to diagrams which can be seen on the web. If you are, this should not be very difficult. The task. This is a simple but practical solution to document and communicate measures related to one child's diabetes online. It's already working for most of it's purpose. We'll see how far we get in refining it in 2,5 hours, and then we'll leave it there, I think. I know some features I want, but cannot implement myself for lack of skills. Data input is made from a web form which I have already produced, and which probably needs not be changed. A person who has diabetes must carefully - many times a day - moderate her blood glucose level (downwards) by injecting insulin, and (upwards) by eating carbohydrates. This Google Spreadsheets solution lets daycare/school personel enter the critical values in a simple form, in real time - to keep documentation complete and to automatically keep the child's parents continuously updated. The web form provides not only an omnipresent interface for personel to enter the data, it is also the natural place for parents to write continously updated instructions, for example current recommended insulin dosage. Thus far, it is already working, but here is what you will help me with: * Normally, incoming measures will be entered in near real time, so the timestamp will function as the relevant time for the measure. However, the person who enters a measure can choose to override the timestamp by entering a timepoint in a special field (for example if data entry is delayed by 2 hours for some reason). Your string handling skills are needed to create a new table column for the correct date and time to be used, conditioned on whether it is manually input or not. (I have managed to hack a solution to this which works with existing lines in the table, but my formulas are erased on lines where new data come in, so it doesn't happen automatically. Perhaps reference fields on a second worksheet will help, or possibly using pivots? You know better than I.) * Once the noted time is right, we should be able to present our three time series in a diagram: blood glucose, given insulin and eaten carbohydrates. They are all in different spans: blood glucose is 0–30, insulin is 0–3, and carbs is 0–150. It is preferable if they can all be plotted in the same chart, but each with its own scale on the y-axis. Else, perhaps three diagrams must be stacked on top of each other, but with identical time axis so they can be vertically compared. * The chart(s) should be put on their own worksheet, and should be "published" – possible to see on the web for anybody who has the link. * The time span for the chart should be automatically adjusted to cover the last 15 days. * If any of the above is technically impossible, let's just give it our best shot. And if time runs out, let's just be cool with where we got. I am not very experienced with online collaboration, but have access to Team Viewer 7.0 and Skype. My spreadsheet contents are in Swedish, but things will be quite self-explanatory anyway. Kindly, Alexander Kristofersson
