The project is to build a flash based live stream broadcaster similar to that used on Livestream and Ustream which enables users to stream video from their webcam or a camera connected to their PC.
The broadcaster should be web based so it can sit in a website and be run from their without any downloads or plugins (apart from flash)
The broadcaster should have a similar look and feel and same features as the one available with Ustream Watershed. Here is a link with information about that one: [url removed, login to view]
Rather than the streaming information being pulled in from user information I would like this to simply be hard coded in to the app as we do not have a database of users. So the RTMP address and stream name should be entered in the flex/flash app which we then build each time for new users. I already have a streaming infrastructure so will just plugin the details for each instance.
As with the Watershed app the features I would like are:
- Video Source (drop down showing all connected sources)
- Audio Source (drop down showing all connected sources)
-Video Quality (Slider or drop down of pre-determined settings)
-Audio Quality (Slider or drop down of pre-determined settings)
-Start and stop broadcast
I am loking to get this project started ASAP.
If I have missed anything or if it is not clear then feel free to send me some questions.
If you click on the Watershed link you will be taken to a site where their is example source code which is used for their broadcaster app.
One more thing I just want to make clear. It is only the broadcaster I am after. I already have a video player for the viewer so just need the broadcaster app to encode and stream RTMP to a designated address and stream name.
