small easy job

I've got a very simple website, [url removed, login to view] which a student started but has not finished. I need someone to finish the site for me, just embed right video links, paste and get embeded videos to play in the screen on page as opposed to opening a new window.

Someone with the right skills should be able to d it in a few hours and I am prepared to work with them on line to ensure successful completion. I may then be interested to commission more work

If this interests you, we need first to discuss the project on skype

I’ve extended this project and provided some more detail about myself and what I am looking for.

I am a UK based business man involved in the sale and production of corporate video for training, marketing and alliance management. My customers are mostly large multinational companies.

These days, film production and the internet are entwined yet most film producer (myself included) are IT illiterate and there are few film studios which offer combined production and IT services to deliver a complete solution to customers needs.

I want to address this market, I need to have the ability to quickly, confidently and effectively outsource work where skill sets are high and remuneration relative.

I am looking to find an individual, someone with a high degree of IT skills required for creating and developing websites and web applications, proficient in C++, PHP, Action script, Flash, Flex, with both programming and design skills. The person needs to be smart, have intuition, ability to work alone often with skeletal specifications and clients who don’t understand IT. Must have the ability to specify, outsource and project manage development. Above all the person must be honest and hard working. An understanding of Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Interactive Media Manager, Media Management Suites, Video and SEO will be an advantage in the near future.

I hope to develop a long term business relationship, starting slowly, step by step with one or two small projects, finish the www.businessinfocus.com and develop new site not in flash. The aim of the site is to assist in the sales process to new clients, so it must look slick with easy to comprehend information structure. It should not take more than a couple of days to do this work and I can be available online to assist and approve everything.

After successful completion of part one of the project, there will be a few small jobs, designing and creating numerous blogs, Facebook accounts and profile building. Then the commission of the first major website application, a media management, tracking and analysis service for clients. Bit like an advanced FaceBook for corporate clients.

The right candidate must be able to communicate in English, have broadband access and a proven track record in creating sophisticated web applications. You need to be entrepreneurial, sales led, able to think for yourself and see the job from the technical, the client and the user perspective. As the relationship develops, travel to the UK, Europe and the US is likely to become necessary.

First Phase:
www.businessinfocus.com
The existing is a flash template which will be made available. The main thing that may require some coding work is that currently when you play a video it launches a new window and streams from Google video. I would like these videos to play in the screen on the main page.

There will be a lot of short video clips on the site, so each page, Broadcast, Business Broadcast, Business Communications and so on should have a similar structure to the Home Page. In the Business Communications Page, there will be a lot of videos broken down into three categories, Training, Marketing and Alliance Management, each containing further subcategories and lots of video. It is important that this area is easy and intuitive to navigate, the user must be able to quickly grasp what information is available, click to view, maintain sight of other menu options so that he can rapidly find media of interest or browse any category. The best example I know which describes the ideal interface is Yahoo video, http://www.yahoo.com/s/812130

The existing site does not appear to have any metadata, Google search and ranking is important. The site does not currently have a log in function, in the future I will want people to be able to log in and create their own accounts where they can easily create menu structures for media hosted elsewhere and give either public or selected access.

So that you can have an idea of the work involved, ask questions and give me a time / cost estimate I have attached the link structure of the pages for the site and you can look at the site on line. This is a work in progress! I have yet to finish the links embed codes and enter the text for each page.

I am in a hurry to get the first phase finished and I have had my fingers burnt before so I may give the first phase to more than one person and select the best. In which case I would pay the other people for the work they have done and may ask them to participate in future builds. As you can tell by the spec, I am not proficient in IT, please feel free to advise me on formats, structure, information or any other requirements. Bids or proposals should be properly written up, I’m not an IT person but I know people who are and will seek advice and assistance initially.

Delivery and completion of phase one will be when the site is approved, hosted, picked up by the major search engines all data and source codes handed over.

I can be available on Skype or google chat to answer any questions.
