I am looking to design a game for 9 to 12 year old school children to teach conservation and be addictive while delivering on zoom. We are expecting 9 children and having groups of 2-3 who would be given each project and asked to solve it using the steps below the projects:
1. Reducing the carbon emission from transport in your city by 20%
2. Reduce the bushfires in Australia and reduce emissions
3. Prevent the corals from bleaching
4. Reduce the waste to landfills
5. Conserving water
The steps involved in solving the project in an hour, which needs to be gamified and points based with as much less instructor role as possible.
Step 1: Explore the issue.
Step 2: State what is known.
Individual students and groups list what they already know about the scenario and list what areas they are lacking information.
Step 3: Define the issues.
Frame the problem in a context of what is already known and information the students expect to learn.
Step 4: Research the knowledge.
Find resources and information that will help create a compelling argument.
Step 5: Investigate solutions.
List possible actions and solutions to the problem, formulate and test potential hypotheses
We will be providing all the research info again in flashcards or some other gamified way. need your strategy to make this into an online game on zoom, where each above game is played in a breakout amongst the kids in a way thats engaging, learning oriendted and addictive with points nad instant gratification.
