My father-in-law is dying fast. I am my husband (his son) have been his full-time caregiverfor about 2 years. During this time,I came to understand how much I needed this man in my life. Although I have both my parents, this man was like a father and grandfather to me. He is what I wish my own father could have been to me. He brought me closer, and a whole new outlook on life. He changed me for the better and we loved eachother so much.

He is also a veteran of the armed forces-which he doesn't talk about. He was a man of rare character. He would stand up for anyone in his family-he valued good morals and 'doing the right thing'.
