Exposition:
The Magenta Book Company was looking for talent to write 1,000-word plot lines for romantic/erotic novels.
They received a bid from Australian expat, living in deepest South East Asia, and it captured their attention.
Rising Action:
Magenta engaged him.
The plot lines were unique, providing writers & readers with fertile ground for imaginative stories. They became fascinated.
They wanted to know about this plot writer.
Climax:
From what fertile spring had these ideas emerged?
They imagined a vast romantic & erotic experience behind the engaging stories. What kind of life must be behind plots that lead writers’ and readers’ to soar out into their own unexplored imaginations and feelings?
At the height of their successful partnership, it is decided that everyone should meet this elusive writer who sends his plots from scattered villages of the Mekong valley. Sometimes in Thailand, then in Laos, sometimes “on assignment”, sometimes engaged in local rituals.
Falling Action:
People in many places know of him, all tell different stories.
Perhaps this man is, himself, a work of fiction?
At last they find him. He’s intriguing, and although not as exciting as they had imagined, nobody is disappointed.
Resolution:
He’s a simple family man, Westerner-turned-Buddhist philosopher, who likes to write & speak in his English native tongue whenever he can. He loves to take people’s hearts & minds to portals that they never knew were theirs to open, & that makes all the difference.
