It’s important to provide the information listed in the “Information we need” section below. We are looking for individuals or companies with less than 10 designers. We are going to have a lot of design needs in the 2 years ahead and our plan is to have a stable of 2 or 3 design companies or individual designers that we use depending on the projects and the designer's availability at any point in time. We have 1 design company we're currently working with and are looking for 1 to 2 others.
If you have applied with us in the past, you are very welcome to apply for this. We are a small nonprofit organization and we were not able to reply to all of the applicants for our past openings. We are happy to consider you for this position.
We’re seeking a part-time Web designer for 12-15 hours to finish a redesign of our site as soon as possible. Ideally this project is completed within 10 days of us hiring an applicant, and definitely within 2 weeks.
We don't need you to integrate it with our website, but we do need you to send us all original graphics after each round of followups and on completion of the work, including the layered originals of the PSD and not simply the flattened JPG or PDF versions.
The design is 98% finished. We’re changing [url removed, login to view] to focus on daily news and ideas about helping the poorest people in the world, and the economic development, human rights, charitable aid, healthy environment, fair trade, good governance and democracy they need to live. The new design is similar to this mockup — [url removed, login to view] — except the content will be different than in the mockup.
We also want this redesign to follow current responsive web design techniques and best practices. Thus knowledge in this area is ideal.
We pay by the hour, so please have your bid say how much you would charge per hour and have the bid amount be that times 12 hours. We are a nonprofit with a small budget, so we can only view bids between $20-$22 or lower. Our policy is to not pay until the project has been completed in full and we have received completed specs and PSDs.
We only want designers who double check their work to make sure everything we asked for is set and/or let us know which parts were not done. If you're a designer who can't regularly do that, please don't apply as we would need to end things pretty quickly and it would save you and us many hassles to simply not apply.
If you do great, we will use you ongoingly for years to come. In the near future, we will need more PT and FT Web / graphic design team members. All work will be virtual — you can be located anywhere. For any work you do for us, you can use the final front page design in your portfolio, and we will also be happy to act as a reference.
The new design above relates to this project in pre-beta mode that we’re doing to help the poorest —

We are forward thinking and passionate about making the world a better place — particularly for those most in need.
We look forward to hearing from you,

This sounds fantastic - and what a great cause! First, I live in the US so I would be available throughout the day for communication purposes. Second...well, I'll go into more detail in my PM to you. :)
