I have designed a book cover but my printer had some problems with it. I do not own adobe software and only started learning scribus so I am in the bind
I have attached the pdf template with the barcode so you do not even have to bother with that. I just need the size of the pdf be EXACTLY as big as the template keeping the guides in mind.
My printer needs the folowing kind of a pdf;
* all objects be expressed in **CMYK** or spot colors, prepared for the intended printing conditions. Elements in RGB or Lab color spaces or tagged with ICC profiles are prohibited.
* all fonts used in the job be **embedded** in the supplied PDF file.
They recommend that you print to a PostScript file first, then processing the PostScript file using Adobe Acrobat Distiller Professional version 6 or newer. This allows you to produce a solid and stable PDF that is ready to print.
Since there is no need for design I figure this is an easy job taking an hour's work or less. The guides should be removed from the template if that is what you want to use as the base document. I can also furnish the template in other formats such as postscript file or Distiller file. Just let me know. Also the cover images I can give you as is or provide the art and text separate, whatever works best. The result I like in pdf and if possible in postscript format as well.
