design reunion booklet

Hello, I would like a graphic designer to help me make my family reunion program booklet look "extra nice!" However, we have a very limited budget. :-( I've created a draft of the program using Word, but think it needs some cosmetic help before we print copies for our reunion banquet. The current draft is about 12 pages. I envision no more than 12-14 pages total. I would like to retain several of the font styles and colors, (for instance the image on the cover page must be kept), but would like it to look professional. I also would like the option to make future changes to the document myself in case there are some last minute items we want to add or change before we print them. I am open to 8 by 11 size or 8 by 5.5. Based on this, what do you suggest?
