Hi Ryan, we're giving you a first-whack at a large project for our book. This is an artist contract, rather than a designer contract. Below is the amount of work. If accepted, we'll attach samples, agree on an art style (you will need to recommend a style and provide a small example, as an art contract we give artists a lot of leeway). Also, you will need to like making fantasy artwork! Excited to get to work with you again. We're thinking this is a 30 day contract but that is open to less or more depending on your schedule.
We need illustrations for the Curse of the Lost Memories book soon to be published. Illustrations need to be colorized.
These are small illustrations that will be featured between paragraphs of texts, as paragraphs separators.
They are small in size (1inchx1inch when copied onto the page).
We need at least 8 of them.
Ideas for these vignettes include:
The broken skull of a demon
A stone with a glowing rune on it
A stone bridge over a river
The coat of arms of House Wailmoor
A watermill building next to a river
A lone mage tower
A dwarven rune
A sharp longsword
2 – QUARTER-PAGE ILLUSTRATIONS
We need at least 6 of these.
Quarter page illustrations are usually more about characters than places.
Ideas for these:
A female undead sorcerer (Chrystelle) – she is wearing nice rich robes and has a regal allure. She is undead but not evil so she does not look menacing.
A demon imprisoned in a blue sphere – hoofs and horns and evil looking, he is furious to be imprisoned
The top of the sarcophagus of a Dwarven priest – all holy and majestic
A tavern maid – all happy, seductive and sexy
A demon-tainted crocodile – looks like a large regular crocodile with demonic marks or runes on his body
An undead knight – evil and menacing in his full plate armor
3 – HALF-PAGE ILLUSTRATIONS
We need 4 of these – they will illustrate the beginning of each chapter
The crossroads Inn – exterior view of a large inn under the rain with horses tied in front of its main door
Castle Wailmoor – a ruined castle on top of a large hill that towers a desolate moor
The moor – a moor or tor similar to the photo conversion project done in the same style as all the other art for this contract. It could even be the same scene as the prior photo
Dwarven Temple – shows the interior of a temple with its marble columns, its ragged banners and dust covering the floor
