Last week I ran a website project (hourly pay), to which I received a lot of feedback. After communicating with many of you, I decided that I’d need to start a new fixed price project with a much clearer description of what I want. I apologize to all of you who took the effort to contact me and maintain ongoing communication. Nevertheless, I think that it is best for me to do as I’m doing so that I can avoid confusion and complications down the line and so that the chosen freelancer can use their time most efficiently. So, without further ado:
I want to build a unique website for a new startup, using Wordpress. I want the following pages: Home, About, Courses, Prices, Purchase and Contact. I don’t want to use a pre-existing theme. I want for the website to be simple, without any special functionality, flash, videos, or the like. But I do want it to be a unique design. I already have the domain and am using iPage as my host. I will be offering online training, both 1-on-1 and small group courses, via BrainCert Enterprise LMS SaaS, which can be integrated with my site either with a simple hyperlink or use of a Single Sign-On feature to automatically register users from my website to the LMS. I will provide you with the information needed to link BrainCert.
I will first be selling my courses in mainland China and Indonesia. Consequently, I will need to have a website with pages in multiple languages. However, at this time I don’t need the website developer to make all the pages. What I do want is for the developer to make the pages in English and create a template so that additional languages can be added to new pages and retain the look of the pages in English. I choose to do it this way because to properly produce the pages in Mandarin, it is necessary to have an accurate translation (not from software) and to have the Mandarin placed by someone who can read and write Mandarin. Otherwise, the Mandarin pages might look sloppy, which is not what I want in my most important market.
I will need a payment gateway for the site to allow customers to purchase courses. I think WooCommerce would be best, although I am open to suggestions if you think you know of a better way. At first, we’ll only offer payment via bank transfer, with bitcoin/cryptocurrency. I would like the Bitcoin plugin installed. I think this ([login to view URL]) although am open to suggestions to alternatives. My bank account will not be finalized and ready to add on to the payment by bank transfer for another month. I’d like everything set up so that when the time comes I can add it on with a minimal amount of difficulty.
I already have a logo designed which I can provide you. I have the content written, a general idea of the calls to action that I will want in place, and some photos for the background of the pages. I want a simple layout that is clean and attractive. I don’t have the picture of it in my mind, as I’m not graphically inclined. I’ve attached the content for the course description that would be included on the course page. I don’t know how best to display the course description, as it might be a little lengthy. I will ask you to give me your best idea of how to do it. I do want an additional, separate pdf for the course description designed that I might be able to turn into a flyer or to email in attachments. The rest of the pages don’t contain a great deal of content.
I’m looking for someone that can do this in 2 weeks or less. I will prefer a bid with a shorter completion time over a longer one. I want the final product to be one which can be easily managed by myself or whomever else might work on it in the future. I’d ask that the designer show me around it a little. If I’m pleased with the end product, there is a good chance that I will hire the designer again, as I’m sure I will have developments ongoing.
