I represent a team making a game mod for the game "Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War" and its expansions. Unfortunately, we are in need of more models than we have modellers available to do the work. The models are to be relatively low-poly (2000-6000 tri average for bipeds, 4000-8000 for vehicles) and may be humanoid, organic (aka the "demons" of the 40k universe), or vehicles. Texturing, rigging, and animating would be wonderful, but as I have a relatively low budget for this (it's all coming out-of-pocket) I'd much rather have someone willing to do several models and leave the rest up to us than to have someone do 1 model and do all of the texturing, rigging, etc., themselves.
As mentioned in the title, the models preferably will be done in 3ds Max 8 or below... this is important, as otherwise we'll have to convert them to .max format before we can proceed with them. If you use some other program your bid may still be considered, so long as you're able to render the final model that you deliver in .obj format for easy importing by us.
The winning bid will be determined based on the following:
- Price of the bid (I wish this wasn't an issue, but as I said I'm having to pay for this out-of-pocket)
- Quality of your past work (please submit a PM with samples or links to a gallery of your work)
- The number of models that you're willing to do for your bid amount (again, if it's a choice between more models or more service go for more models... though more services than just modelling are of course welcome)
- Preferred type of model to do (we need more organics than humanoid, and more humanoid than vehicles... but there are at least a few opportunities for all options)
One other thing to consider before you bid is that the reference pictures you'll be working from are pictures of tabletop miniatures (Warhammer 40k game pieces.) We've worked with several freelance modellers and people in the Dawn of War community who had no problem with this, but there have been a few modellers who have. We're all volunteering our free time to work on this project, and the last thing that we need is a modeller telling us that they suddenly have a problem with the pictures that we sent us and saying that we need to get them a professional concept artist. It's not going to happen. If you have a problem with working from pictures, then don't bid.
One final thing... don't bid with some blanket statement that's used on every project you bid on and then send me a PM detailing every last thing that you want to do. Give me the details IN YOUR BID, then send me a PM with links to a portfolio or samples of your work. You can include a reminder in with your PM to make sure that I know which bid is yours, but that's it. I use this site as a service provider as well, and it's annoying to say the least to see word-for-word the same spiel on job after job after job.
Thanks for your consideration!

As a profesinal 3dmaxer, I can do all my best (Texturing, rigging, animating, modelling etc.) [login to view URL] as a modeller-preferred type of model is humanoid (one model-50$)
