Making website more SEO Friendly

My website was built with one of freelancer members, which was fine until i saw that it has a lot of java script and it needs to be redone wilth more xhtml build.

i would like to have someone professional who is capable of taking my website as it is and change the content to xhtml, if few changes needs to be done in order to do that, i'm fine with that .

I need the site to be much more google SEo friendly.
