Project Description

We would like to create an iPad app which would function similar to an Excel spreadsheet which we have developed in-house. Attached is a small version of that macro-driven Excel file. Essentially, the macros are used to sort the database rows given the criteria provided. There are three independent sets of criteria/data (Air conditioning, heat pump, small packaged units). Each has a tab titled “User Interface” which pulls from the corresponding “Data” tab.

It’s a bit clunky, so we certainly want the interface modernized for use on an iPad. The data has some minor updates every few months, so we might want to pull the data from an external source periodically or we rebuild the entire app every few months. I'm open to your thoughts and suggestions on the best way to accomplish that effectively. Because there will be periodic updates, I'm looking for a developer who will be around in the future and wants a long term relationship (potentially other apps as well).

One piece of functionality which exists today but doesn't need to exist in the app is printing. Also, there is some conditional formatting which you may not notice because the data is truncated -- when both the SEER exceeds 16 and the EER exceeds 13, those cells are highlighted. That functionality should stay. Also, there is some functionality that we don't have today that should be added. If a user were to tap on any of the AHRI numbers, we'd like to open that specific file generated on an external website. That pdf file could then be emailed to somebody.

If you have any questions, please let me know. So I know you actually read all of these details, please include the word "Thermostat" in your response. Thank you.
