Background History:

Presently, in the Australian Construction industry. it is a standard procedure to complete a daily docket book for the works undertaken on construction sites for hiring earthmoving machines and labourers. Then, the completed docket is provided to the clients representative to be processed for payment by the accounting department.


To replace the daily docket book with an app which prompts users to enter similar information about there work activities and to be approved by the cleint representative. Also, the information on the docket can be converted into a tax invoice and either sent by email or saved on a server for clients to access and downloaded invoices via csv files into there existing accounting system for easy and hassle-free to complete.

Design and Requirements:

To prepare a standard template across the entire construction industry for recording the following information:

1. Project Site Details

2. Date and Day (Preloaded)

3. Client Details (Preloaded)

4. Operator Details (Preloaded)

5. Type of Machine plus attachments, if any.

6. Start Time and finish time

7. Total Hours and minutes worked less breaks

8. Remarks column

9. Daily Pre-start Checklist

10. Signatures of operator and clients or use username and password identification

11. Docket number and company details. List of defects to be fixed.

The purpose of this app is to replace the daily docket book with an electronic version that is both faster and easier to complete.

Requirements: The app must have the capability of being integrated with the most popular accounting software packages (i.e MYOB, Quicken & Cashflow) so that both parties can receive a record/statement/tax invoice of the daily transaction to be downloaded into there applicable software.

The design should allow users to search via pre populated fields to accurately display the works undertaken instead of having to individually type out record.

Investigate how the clients rep can more efficiently receive several dockets from different subcontractors by way of either receiving the dockets without having to visit each person.
