Magazine and Digital Ad Sales

We are a very small publisher of regional magazines in the Pacific Northwest. Our current project goes to print next month. We have recently upgraded our website and are seeking web sponsors as well as web and print advertisers.

Web sponsorship is $2388/year. There are a number of benefits that go with sponsorship including a full-page ad in our annual publication - valued at $1235.

Our target sponsor would be national or international brands interested in supporting/reaching our regional audience but also interested in community benefit. Our project is aiming to be the 'go to' event and business directory for the region. Brands like REI, Columbia Sportswear, Nike, Smith Optics, etc. that will benefit from folks interested in outdoor recreation, wineries, breweries, regional history, and so on.

All sponsors who sign up and pay before we go to press this year will receive a full-page ad in our print magazine. Those who wish to be billed monthly or who miss the print deadline (October 2nd) this year, will receive a full-page print ad in the 2021 publication.

We have budgeted for a 35% advertising sales commission for ads sold between now and November 30, 2020. After that time, our commission drops to our standard 25%. The commission rates are perpetual if the salesperson obtains renewals in subsequent years. Commissions are paid when we collect from the advertiser.

This requires someone comfortable and good at cold-calling who will stick with the sales task. We've had a lot of disappointment with folks who start out enthusiastically but give up after a few days.

This really does require someone who knows what they are doing, so please be sure to tell me about your experience and qualifications.
